A simple to use tool for testing and troubleshooting high speed V.35 interfaces, the LEDs instantly show the state of all signals.

(Technical note: V.35 is a specification for a communications interface that uses an M/34 connector, and a set of five balanced (differential) (V.35) signals for data and clocks, and nine unbalanced (V.28) signals for control lines)

Six in-line LED monitors show the signals from the DTE - 2 balanced and 4 unbalanced (see table below)
Eight in-line LED monitors show the signals from the DCE - 3 balanced and 5 unbalanced (see table below)
(a) Differential (balanced) lines(V.35):- red = SPACE/ON (A-B > +0.3V), green = MARK/OFF (A-B < -0.3V), both = data or clock, neither = signal in transition region (-0.3V < A-B > +0.3V)
(b) Unbalanced lines (V.28):- red = ON (> +3V above signal ground), green = OFF (< -3V relative to signal ground), both = data or clock, neither = signal in transition region (-3V < Vs < +3V)
Speeds: Differential (balanced) up to 10Mb/s, un-balanced up to 500Kb/s
All 34 lines are wired through the unit
Suitable for operation to 10Mb/s, LEDs do not dim with increasing speed, the thresholds remain constant from DC to 10Mb/s
Interface connectors: One female M/34 (ISO-2593) type connector, one male M/34 connector
Power: interface power is sufficient for most situations (the power LED indicates the strength of the of the power available), battery powering is possible for extremely weak interfaces. One 9V PP3 size battery (included) lasts for over 100 hours
